I am a sports management professional, scout leader, and educator who has devoted more than two decades to using sport and youth work as engines for growth, character building, and community development. From Alexandria to Dubai, my journey has been shaped by a simple conviction: when sport is managed with vision and values, it becomes a powerful tool for education, leadership, and social change.
At my core, I see myself as a builder of systems and people. I design strategies, structures, and programs—but I am equally committed to mentoring young people, empowering volunteers, and supporting colleagues to perform at their best. My work brings together three main identities: sports management expert, academic and author, and scout movement leader, all anchored in a deep belief in service and lifelong learning.
Professionally, I am a specialist in sports management with a doctoral degree in Physical Education (Sports Management) from Alexandria University, supported by both master’s and bachelor’s degrees in the same field. Over more than 20 years, I have focused on how to plan, organize, and sustain sports programs and institutions so they can genuinely impact individuals and communities.
My experience spans managing sports teams, overseeing major facilities, and directing large‑scale events, from university championships to national and international tournaments. Whether I am planning a student sports festival or supporting a global football event, I approach every project with the same principles: clarity of purpose, attention to detail, and respect for every participant’s experience.
Today, I serve as the Technical Secretary of the Emirates Scouts Association, a role that reflects not only my professional expertise but also my personal identity as a scout leader. In this capacity, I help shape the association’s strategies and programs, oversee their implementation, and ensure they align with global scouting standards and the values that define the movement.
Scouting for me is more than an activity; it is a way of life that combines service, discipline, teamwork, and a deep respect for nature and community. Through scouting, I work closely with young people and leaders across the Arab region, designing initiatives that build character, leadership skills, and a strong sense of responsibility toward society. Being repeatedly recognized for excellence in scout leadership is meaningful to me because it reflects impact not just on systems, but on people.
Another essential part of who I am is my identity as an educator. I have taught undergraduate courses in sports management and physical education, and I have developed tailored learning materials for specialized groups such as maritime transport students. I enjoy turning complex concepts—like governance, quality management, or sports economics—into practical tools that students and practitioners can apply in real contexts.
My teaching philosophy is grounded in interaction and relevance. I believe students learn best when they see how ideas connect to their future careers and to real challenges in the sports world. Whether in the classroom, in workshops, or through mentoring, I aim to spark curiosity, encourage critical thinking, and build confidence so that the next generation of sports professionals and youth leaders can go further than we have.
Across all my roles, I tend to think like a strategist. I am drawn to questions such as: How can a sports association grow sustainably? How do we design events that leave a legacy? How can we align youth programs with national development goals? These questions have guided my work in planning, budgeting, and evaluating programs for associations, universities, clubs, and public sector entities.
In practice, this means developing long‑term plans, building operating models, and setting measurable objectives for organizations I work with—whether it is a university sports department or a national scout association. I am particularly interested in how governance, digital tools, and evidence‑based decision‑making can improve performance and transparency in sports and youth institutions.
Beyond practice, I see myself as part of a wider knowledge community. I write, research, and speak because I believe that sharing insights is part of our responsibility as professionals. My authored and co‑authored works span topics such as sports economics, management of sports institutions, event management, human resources in sports, quality management, creativity, and the culture of scouting and sports ethics.
Participating in regional and international conferences has allowed me to engage with experts from around the world and to add an Arab voice to critical discussions on sport, peace, governance, and youth inclusion. These experiences continually reshape how I think and act, reminding me that sports management is not just about local operations but also about global trends, standards, and opportunities.
My story is deeply connected to the Arab region—from my academic formation in Egypt to my roles in the UAE, and my contributions across multiple Arab countries through conferences, projects, and collaborations. Working in this context has made me acutely aware of both the challenges and the untapped potential of sports and youth programs in our societies.
At the same time, my involvement in international events and networks has given me a global perspective, helping me bridge local realities with international best practices. I see myself as a connector between contexts: someone who translates global standards into solutions that fit our region’s culture, needs, and aspirations.
Ultimately, who I am is defined less by titles and more by values. Professional excellence matters to me, but it must be tied to integrity, respect, and a genuine desire to serve others. In both sports and scouting, I am committed to fairness, inclusion—especially for young people and persons with disabilities—and the idea that every individual deserves the opportunity to grow and contribute.
I value teamwork, and I take pride in building strong relationships with colleagues, students, athletes, volunteers, and partners. Whether I am designing a national‑level strategy or sitting with a small group of young scouts around a campfire, my goal is the same: to help people discover their potential, work together, and leave every place—and every organization—better than we found it.
I am a sports management professional with over twenty years of experience leading programs and institutions at university, club, governmental, and national levels in Egypt and the United Arab Emirates.
