My professional experience has been shaped by more than twenty years of working at the intersection of sport, youth development, and education. I have moved across national institutions, universities, elite clubs, and the Scout movement, which has allowed me to connect strategic planning with practical, day‑to‑day implementation that directly serves young people, athletes, and communities. On this page, I focus on my professional journey and how each role has contributed to the way I lead, manage, and design sport and youth programs.
Since 2020, I have been serving as the Technical Secretary of the Emirates Scout Association, a position that places me at the center of the Association’s strategic and technical work. I am responsible for developing the Association’s plans, long‑term strategies, and programs, and for supervising their implementation and evaluating their impact.
In practice, I lead the operational strategies of the Association to ensure they align with global Scouting standards while responding to the needs of young people in the UAE. I oversee key administrative functions, including preparing budgets, developing programs, and coordinating the contributions of volunteers who are essential to the success of our activities. Through this role, I translate Scouting values such as service, leadership, and community into real initiatives, camps, and projects that help young people build character, skills, and a sense of responsibility.
From 2016 to 2020, I held a dual role at the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport that combined student affairs and academic teaching. As Director of Student Activities, I managed extracurricular programs across several branches of the Academy, including cultural, sports, and scientific activities designed to enrich student life and support their personal development beyond the classroom.
I supervised major events such as graduation ceremonies and national celebrations, ensuring they were well organized and reflected the Academy’s identity and values. At the same time, as a lecturer in the Department of Sports Sciences, I taught undergraduate courses in sports management and physical education, with a particular focus on tailoring course content to the needs of maritime transport students. This experience allowed me to understand students from multiple angles—academic, social, and athletic—and to design programs that support them in a holistic way.
Between 2011 and 2020, I served as Director of Sports Activities at Alexandria University, a role that significantly shaped my approach to university sports management. I was responsible for planning, coordinating, and implementing sports programs and events at the university level, covering tournaments, inter‑faculty competitions, and internal leagues across various sports.
I supervised coaches and followed up on the needs of student‑athletes, from scheduling training sessions to organizing their participation in competitions and making sure facilities were used effectively. My work also involved building partnerships with national sports federations and community organizations, which helped position the university as an active player within the wider sports community. Through these efforts, I contributed to increasing student participation and enhancing campus life by making sport a central and accessible part of the university experience.
In 2016–2017, I transitioned into an elite club environment as Manager of Swimming, Gymnastics, and Tennis Teams and Deputy Director of Public Relations at Smouha Sporting Club. In this position, I combined the technical management of teams with responsibilities for the club’s image and community presence.
I managed training schedules, competition logistics, and day‑to‑day coordination for multiple teams, working closely with coaches, players, and support staff to ensure high‑level preparation for regional and national championships. Alongside this, I led initiatives to strengthen the club’s public profile through media campaigns and community engagement projects, highlighting success stories and building strong relationships with members and supporters. I also analyzed team performance in depth and provided recommendations to improve training approaches and future competitive strategies.
My early professional foundations were built between 2006 and 2011, when I worked as a Sports Specialist at the Directorate of Youth and Sports in Alexandria. In that role, I managed youth sports programs and activities and contributed to initiatives aimed at increasing community participation in organized sport.
I coordinated youth sports events and competitions, taking responsibility for logistics, registration, and technical support to ensure smooth and fair execution. I also worked closely with schools and sports clubs to expand opportunities for young people to engage in structured physical activity within safe and supportive environments. By preparing reports and analyzing program outcomes, I was able to propose improvements and support more effective, result‑oriented youth sports policies.
In addition to my management roles, I have also served as an Anti‑Doping Officer with the Egyptian National Doping Organization (Egy‑NDO).[*] In this specialized capacity, I was responsible for conducting doping control procedures during national and international sports events, ensuring compliance with anti‑doping regulations and promoting fair competition.
I provided training sessions for athletes and coaches on anti‑doping procedures, helping them understand their rights and responsibilities and the importance of clean sport. This experience strengthened my commitment to integrity in sport and gave me a deeper appreciation of the ethical and health dimensions that underpin athletic performance.
Across all these roles, I have consistently focused on using sport and youth programs as tools for development, education, and positive social change, while maintaining high professional standards in planning, management, and evaluation.
I am a sports management professional with over twenty years of experience leading programs and institutions at university, club, governmental, and national levels in Egypt and the United Arab Emirates.
